What is General Order 2?

General Order 2 centers on obedience to higher authority and maintaining military discipline. It requires you to follow your special orders and to carry out all duties in a military manner, meaning you perform tasks with the standards, precision, and professionalism expected in the field. This emphasis on adhering to directions from those in command helps ensure consistency, reliability, and readiness across all tasks, even when circumstances change. The other statements address separate responsibilities—like uniform appearance, reporting issues, or showing respect to the flag—that are governed by other orders or regulations, not the focus of this particular general order.
